(yay for alliteration!)
So I went to the wedding of the eldest stepson of my uncle Faavae, and I've never even met the dude. My family and two uncles, and the dj's family were the only samoans there, and everyone else was white. And there were at least 4 wannabe gangstas hanging around getting drunk. They were the epitome of white trash. This one guy's pants were literally 3 feet too low, he tried to do some rap and beatboxing on the mike (even though no one was supposed to be even using the mike) and even my mother was dissing him, seeing as "he clearly had no idea what being a gangster is all about, and if he ever tried leaving Lacey he'd be shot" (direct quote from her). Not to mention that most of my elder family grew up in the ghettos.
So after he crossed lines with the bride and groom, Faavae (the groom's stepfather, and biggest Samoan present) politely asked for the white trash to leave (he didn't call them that, but that's what they were). They, however, were drunk and came back a few minutes after leaving. So Faavae tells them to leave again, but this time they refuse, and start talking trash to my uncle. So then my other uncle Roy, my father, and my oldest brother step in and the wannabes still refuse to back down and go home.
So Faavae finally has enough and slaps him. One slap, straight to the face. Now remember, we're talking at least 225 pounds of Samoan here, and I'm probably underestimating. That punk was out COLD. And he's probably missing a few teeth (there was blood all over the neck of the punk behind the now-dead-punk). Just imagine if he had actually thrown a punch.
But the dumbasses are still standing there, after repeatedly being told to pack it on home, and my family always used a polite, calm tone, up until Faavae finally lost his patience. After that they had to literally drag their friend out of there. We had to restrain my other uncle from chasing after them.
A cop actually came right after that, but he never stepped out of the car...what with there being two pissed off samoans (since they had to plan and set up the entire wedding, and some of the bride's side of the family ran off before cleaning up as per the deal).
What really makes it awkward was that we were having a pseudo gang war directly across the street from my church (in the Thurston County Fairgrounds)...
Anyone else got some funny family stories?
